Blue

cinema Modernissimo

The author of Caravaggio, Last of England, Wittgenstein signed his will film in 1993, a year before his death from AIDS. An intimate and profound reflection on the illness that had now taken his sight away, on death and above all on life. The screen inhabited by a single color, the International Klein blue, by the artist Yves Klein. A monochrome frame that is anything but inert, crossed by words, sounds, the voices of John Quentin, Tilda Swinton, Nigel Terry, symbolic actors of Jarman's cinema, the music of Simon Fisher Turner, his composer for many films. A poetic song, a window wide open on the soul of a man. Introduced by Tommaso Pasquale and Mauro Meneghelli.
