Casa Arcangeli

From Friday, November 13th to Sunday, November 15th, between 12:00 PM and 7:00 PM, the bEB, the art history library at Palazzo Bentivoglio, will present twelve photographs by Giuseppe De Mattia from the series 'Strada Maggiore 49 (Casa Arcangeli)', which have recently been added to the institution's permanent collection. \n Created in 2013, this photographic project documents the rooms of the final home of the Arcangeli family in Bologna, captured after they were cleared of all furnishings in preparation for a renovation. On the walls of the grand bourgeois apartment—once occupied by art historian Francesco alongside his siblings, the musician Nino (1905-1965), the poet Gaetano (1910-1970), and the painter Bianca, known as Rosalba (1913-2007)—time has left behind the outlines of furniture, books, and paintings, creating a silent map of the human and intellectual lives that once animated the home. \n The series has been published in a limited edition by Danilo Montanari Editore. \n On Saturday, November 14th at 5:30 PM, the library will host a conversation featuring Giuseppe De Mattia, Elena Volpato, and Tommaso Pasquali.
