redrum a performance by gruppo nanou 'redrum', a choreographic installation for five dancers and one performer, takes its name from Stephen King’s novel 'The Shining', as well as Stanley Kubrick’s film adaptation. By evoking the idea of a place that is non-existent yet familiar—one capable of triggering a disturbing imagery populated by ghosts and memories where the boundaries between reality, dream, and desire blur—the performance itself becomes a space to inhabit rather than something to observe from a distance. The action dissolves the boundaries between stage and audience: the public is invited to freely explore the spaces they occupy—in this case, the underground vaults of Palazzo Bentivoglio—deciding when to enter and when to leave, allowing the scenic image to unfold before their eyes in a unique and, perhaps, unrepeatable way.
